Allow user registration only with specific e-mail domains

My site should support only certain e-mail domains for user registration. I tried to achieve that by modifying theme’s function.php file, both directly and by using Code Snippets plugin. While it works on WP default registration page, CorpTrain ignores these actions/filters in the functions.php file.

I also tried to use some plugins for blacklisting and whitelisting e-mail domains (CM Email Blacklist, User Verifications, Blacklist Whitelist Domains…), however these plugins are also ignored by CorpTrain.

Could you please provide me let me know how to implement domain check?
