Elemetor Error – Content area was not found in your page

I used to be able to edit my blog page with Elementor no problem (which is the same page as the theme demo blog page): http://69.90.161.105/~p2pn654/news-events/
But then I clicked to edit it using the WordPress editor, as I couldn’t find a way to solve a page title issue. Ever since, when I click to edit with Elementor I get this error: “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call ‘the_content’ function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”
I followed some of the recommendations from this article https://elementor.com/help/the-content-area-was-not-found-error/, but nothing has helped.
Please let me know how I can solve this. Thanks,
