how to protect against spam ?

hello ,

when a user want to subscribe to site he fills a form that ask : ID, First name , Name, email adress , and capcha matematical question
he clic on subscribe ,
a message tells that confirmation is send to email in wich he will configure pass word .

if user does not confirme email and does not create password he his also recorded in list of subscribers , despite he did not create password.

If he wants to acces to courses , he need to create the password, because without password he won’t be able to access to courses

i have 2 questions :

1) Is it possible to configur something so that if he does not confirme email and create password he will not be recorded in subscriber list

if this is technically not possble in word press

2) Is there a list where i can monitor user who have clic on email and created password ( user who are student and have acces to courses )
