Issues with Running the app – server returned response error code :500
September 11, 2022 at 7:37 PM #850940
I was following the instructions in the Documentation to setup the development environment. Managed to get the server to start, ran the command “npx react-native run-android” to compile the code which was successful. App did not however manage to load in the emulator device.
All I got was a red screen with
development server returned response error code :500 when running react-native app.
Body of the message shows Duplicated files or mocks. Need some help to get the app to work…

Also – just a reminder the gradle.properties file => FLIPPER_VERSION=0.99.0
There is an extra space at the end of the line which will prevent the app from building. Maybe a good idea to fix that in your code so that other users wont get into trouble with it.

that is strange as I have 1000MB internet connection and the download speed is >500mb/s. It does not seem to be an internet connection/speed issue but rather a dom element issue from what I can see.
Just to check – since I used the default code, I do not need to make any adjustment to the code base for the api calls to be made by the app correctly? From what I can see there is only a website url in the configuration file. Is that all you need to connect this to a website? Is there any implementation at the back end of the website?
Is there any setting at the Android Emulator I need to do to make it work?
I am just trying to identify the problem here. The app did load for 1 sec with the frame but pictures didn’t load at all then the error messages pop. I do not think this is an internet speed issue given the speed I am running. I want to be sure that things are being setup correctly if you are saying that issue is with the API calls.

Well the code is not working as far as I can see.
Can I check that I am not missing a step here.
I followed the instructions to setup the environment.
When everything is done, I open a terminal and run “npx react-native start” to start the server
In a different terminal, I run “npx react-native run-android” to run it in a emulator.
The app was downloaded and installed on the virtual machine.
Am I missing any step here? Because these error messages are what I get. They have nothing to do with internet speed.
