tc_stylesheets says not writable

We use pantheon for hosting and ./wp_content/uploads has been verified as writeable, but it is a symlink. We 100% have the correct permissions, but the theme will not write to the stylesheets directory. Typically when we have this sort of problem it’s because the theme or plugin is looking for is_dir(), but I didn’t see any such checks. We need some assistance.
