When editing page: Update fails due to invalid JSON

When editing pages with SquareRoot Theme activated, a red banner keeps showing up that says “Aktualisierung fehlgeschlagen. Die Antwort ist keine gültige JSON-Antwort.” which means “Update Failed. The Answer is no valid JSON-Answer.” in english.
I am new to WordPress, but when editing before activating and setting up your theme this didn’t happen.
Please help.
