after some update , some post have been moved to trash

Hi ,
Well i have seen that some post that were created by an other person than me has been moved to trash
and images has been erased form the post .An assistant wrote some post and put images to ullistrate the post , and after some plugin updates and after i have erased
the asssitant account and transfer publication to me ,all his publications have been moved to trash and images that were in the post has been erased , i no more find them in the media
folder of wordpress , is there a way to fix this issue that is pretty strange
?
