background image for header

Hello,
The background image for the header seems to be magnified. I can’t seem to get my image (1500×300) to fit within the header. Please check for me. I also tried to scale it down, but it just scales up whatever is there.
How do I decrease the size of the title font in the header and make it left-justified?
