Category page doesn't show excerpt and read-more-button

Dear Thimpress team
I have created a function to display all categories on my front page. By clicking on a category you get to a overview page with all posts of that certain category. I made some adjustments on that page via the customizer tool in the backend (Customizer > Blog > Settings).
Even though I have “Display Excerpts” and “Display Read More” switched on, they don’t show up on the page. The weird thing: on my local installation it works fine.

Any help would be highly appreciated, just let me know what you need.
