Customer File Download Issue

Greetings,
We are having an issue where customers purchase a document and it’s downloadable. The file is uploaded correctly. When they purchase the customer says there is nothing to download. We have it set to allow downloading of the document (word document) up to three times.
However, we keep getting customers emailing us saying they have no downloads in their profile and are not prompted to download anything at time of purchase.
Where do customers go to download a purchase that is downloadable?
