Hide date from specific post category and include translate archive on child

Hi, I need to hide the date from a specific category of posts. The one that appears at Home Page. I need tod hide the date there too (at Home I used the Thim Posts Visual Composer Element).
Can you send me the code that I can include to do that?
Also I tried to include a new folder “languages” on child theme folder with the .po and .mo but did not work. So I had to include the language on hotel-wp but every time there is a update my translations disappear. What can I do on functions file to solve this?
