How do I send activation email to allow new user to activate account

Hello,
I am trying to send an activation link to the newly registered user to activate their account. I cannot find any options to send the activation link. I do not want users to use fake email addresses for registration. The users should be able to log in after clicking on the activation link emailed to them.
