How do I set the homepage and How do I remove sidebar completely from a page?

      I cannot seem to set the homepage. I would like to create my own page from scratch and set as homepage. Is this possible?

      Also, I’d like to remove a sidebar from a page but can’t find out where to do it. Thanks in advance for your help!
