How to change and hide pages

Hello, I am curious if there are any instructions on how I can hide the “Pages” tab and “Courses” tab in the very top of the menu so it isn’t accessible yet until I get the courses completed. I am not wanting to delete it yet, just now open to the public yet really.
and second, I am wondering how I can change the bottom image on the blog section (it also shows on the courses page) and would like to change the image.
