How to disable purple overlay in edtech

Hello,

It seems there’s this menacing purple overlay that covers the slider of edtech theme. I’m not able to locate exactly where the ability to disable this is in the theme or modify the css with any certainty that it wont affect other elements.

I found one post on themeforest that mentioned this below, however inserting into custom css fields did not change anything.
In addition, It’s unclear what the #color would be, if I simply want to make it more bright and colorful verses this opacity overlay.
