INITIAL Problems Customziing the website (JSON Error + SLIDER)

I am starting customizing the website and I am facing some problems:
1) When I try to edit the existing pages – changing permalink – I get the following error message “Updating Failed. The response is not a valid JSON response ” HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED?;
2) I read the template features lots of times to make sure the plug ins were included, specially Slider Revolution. They are asking for a Purchase Code to “Unlock all features“. WHERE IS THAT CODE? -
