Is Thim Framework Plugin still needed?

I manage a site which had Coaching Version 1.5.5.1. A couple of pages wouldn’t load unless the Thim Framework plugin was deactivated, but that led to issues on the other pages.
I’ve just updated the theme to 3.5.8 and the site is working correctly again. I noticed that Thim Framework was deactivated and it causes a fatal error if you try to activate it. Is it not needed with the newer version of the theme?
