Learnpress – cannot update plugin to most current version on coaching theme

Unable to update learnpress plugin on coaching theme to most recent update. a) It breaks the website and have to do a website restore or b) it says it updates then completely deletes learnpress from the dashboard and says ‘install’ but that fails as well.
I have a large course built in the learnpress and cannot just delete this ….
I need assistance to update the latest plugin.
