Organized bookings schedule for hotel manager

Hello,

My client wants to be able to check availability of rooms without having to click on each booking to see which room they have booked and for which dates. He would like a visual way of looking at bookings (like a calendar). So he needs to be able to keep track of his bookings schedule in an organized way. Is there something like this?

At the very least, he needs to have a way of seeing which rooms are booked in order of check-in date. I do not see a way to do this (bookings are ordered by ID #, which is when the customer made the booking and not when they are checking in). It is very difficult for him to see what his availability is if someone calls and asks, or if he needs to see what rooms are taken and when.

There must be a way to achieve this as it is standard for hotel management to keep track of bookings in an organized way. He is now keeping track of his bookings schedule with pencil & paper booking sheets, but this should definitely be managed by the site (and is largely why he wanted a new site in the first place).

Please let me know what my options are here.
