Problem with resources and php.ini

Hi, today, out of the blue (without any previous action on my part), my website has given me error 503 Service Unavailable for more than 15 minutes. I called the hosting service and they told me that it could happen again because the website sometimes uses too resources and it can depend from some plug-in or some settings of the php.ini file. Most of my plug-in are for the template and I never touched the php.ini file, because you (bobby) did it for me when I installed the theme. Is there something you can do to limit the resources used by the website so that I don’t have to live with the anxiety that it could give error 503?
