Trying to change the FA Icon color

Trying to change the FA Icon color. It’s not changing when I edit any of the theme options in the wp customizer and so I’m resorting to custom CSS
I added this custom CSS as shown here: https://snipboard.io/QsfP8Y.jpg
.fa { color: red !important; }but it ain’t working
how do I fix this?
