Very slow loading and checkout process

Hello,
Can you tell me how can I speed up the website?
I tried minifying and all but it’s not working sometimes it broke something in the theme.
can you tell me which plugin should I use to optimize the speed without breaking the theme?
also, the checkout process is really really slow. It takes a minute to redirect to the payment gateway from filling up the checkout form.
can you also check that? what is the problem?
