Why does the Buy Course button disappear after adding it to the LP checkout?

I am not using WooCommerce. I am relying on the default LearnPress checkout process (and using PayPal Express as the payment gateway). I also paid for the Memberships add-on.
When I go to an individual course and click on the Buy Course button. It appears on the Checkout page. When I go back to the Course, the Buy Course button is entirely gone. How can we customize this so that the Buy Course button changes to something like “Added to Cart”? I don’t think it’s good design to have a button disappear altogether after using it.
